Welcome to EME2040!

My name is Hannah Emonds. I was born in Crossville, Tennessee and raised in Tampa, Florida. Growing up I was always very close with my family and friends, and I have always loved to spend lots of time with them. Coming to Florida State and leaving them behind has been very difficult, but I know it will be a very rewarding experience. I am looking forward to entering my major of Elementary Education and one day becoming a teacher, which is one of the reasons I decided to enroll in this class.

My background in technology is mostly limited to social media platforms. I have a very active Instagram account, as well as Twitter, Snapchat, and Facebook. Though these are not necessarily useful to my future career in teaching, I do think having the knowledge will be useful when learning how to use other programs. Being on these social media outlets has equipped me with social skills i may not have had otherwise. I am comfortable with many Microsoft Office programs as well. Definitely not an expert, but enough to use them with ease. However, I know my education will be expanded after going through this semester.

I hope this class will provide me with the skills and expertise I will need to begin my teaching career, or at least kick-start my education of the programs I will be working with on a daily basis. I know that the lessons I learn while in this classroom will be very rewarding, and one day I will be happy to look back on the foundation of my future in the classroom setting. 😊

  1. It looks like you are a very social media person! That's great! But I guess that you seldom use them for educational purposes. Well... that is not true... a lot of learning (may not necessarily be the school knowledge) happens when you read all the posts and interact with others. We will talk about that later in the semester.
You're very right. This class may not prepare you enough to be a teacher but it definitely is a good kick start of your journey of learning to be a teacher. Hope some of the experience will be useful in your future learning as well as the career development.
