As a student, I've been using word since the third grade. From typing up short stories to making birthday invitations, I can proudly say i'm comfortable with the program. My teachers tend to use it to create tests, notes pages, or assignments for us to complete. Word is a great tool with many possibilities, and weather its being used for an essay, notes, or anything in between, i strongly recommend it for all school settings.
Copyright in a classroom setting is one of the biggest no-no's. It is absolutely detrimental to a students grade, and reputation in a class. Having academic integrity is beyond necessary, and should never have to be called into question. Anytime you use a sources words or ideas you must give credit. Weather or not you think you are using their information, it should always be cited. Creating your own opinions and ideas from a source or reading is okay, but you should still cite the source as you may create ideas based off what you've read even if you don't do it intentionally.
Solutions:
1. Copyright- By citing any and all sources you view or visit weather or not you use them, you can avoid copyright issues and also stay away from plagiarism punishments.
2. Privacy- Nothing on the internet is really private, so to keep it simple... anything you wouldn't want others to see should not be posted on the internet. As an aspiring teacher, its very important to be careful what we put on the internet and make sure we understand the consequences we may face.
3. Cyber bullying- As one of the most controversial issues out there, there is no one perfect solution. By removing negative people from your digital life we can avoid cyber bullying and also give ourselves some piece of mind. Block negative people from your life and you'll be surprised how quickly your issues disappear.
