My experience with Twitter has been very rewarding and educational. I have learned more about my community as well as my class, and I think it has deepened my connection to my school as well as my major. Twitter has many pros and cons, but I feel with the structure we follow in this class it has been a useful tool that has shaped my understanding of social media's role in a professional setting.
I learned organizational techniques and how to put information into categories that seemed similar/relevant. It also taught me how to design something aesthetically pleasing that is also functional. I didn't quite like the idea of designing a site in the first place because I don't find it necessary for my career, however, it was a valid use of my time and has prepared me for various tasks I wouldn't otherwise be equipped to complete.
Assistive technology is mostly used in classrooms with high need students. Having resources for them to use is important to maintaining their success in grade based tasks. Allowing them to utilize technology and learn from the processes us not only encouraging them but gives them various ways to complete tasks their peers may be doing one way. I perceive changes coming to many classrooms in the near future as schools realize these technologies are beneficial to students and teachers alike.
